MERION STATION, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- The late Thom Bell, record producer known for his work with The Stylistics and The Delfonics, has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Hear from former singer of The Stylistics, Russell Thompkins Jr., talk about Bell's legacy with the video above.

Bell had a tremendous influence on the sound of Philadelphia that emerged in the 1960s and 1970s.

Bell passed away in 2022.

During his career, he enjoyed a decades-long friendship with entertainment attorney David J. Steinberg.

When Steinberg passed away, his son, Jeffrey, decided to create a scholarship in his and Bell's names.

The David J. Steinberg and Thomas R. Bell Distinguished Endowed Scholarship will aid students studying music at Monmouth University.

Monmouth University student, Jeffrey Méndez, accompanied Thompkins Jr. on piano in the video above.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame primetime special with performances will air on ABC on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. EST/7:00 p.m. CST. It will be available the next day on Hulu.
